Letter C and the Very Hungry Caterpillar

Last week was all about the letter C, and what better book to go with that than Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  We had lots of caterpillary fun for Totschool, Preschool and Playgroup.

Not many Totschool Photos this week.  But we did lots of the usual.

This week we switched out the large beads for some cut straws and Nathanael enjoyed it just as much.  Again he played with this one every day.

Lots of playing with the rice bin.

Nathanael loves to colour in.  Unfortunately he will colour on anything and everything, chairs, lounges, tables, walls.  You name it he has tried it.  Even the poor dog isn't safe from him!!

Blowing kisses to Mummy...awww....

And of course, we always have time for a bit of painting.

Preschool - Letter C

Exploring the ever popular mystery letter box!

We read many caterpillar stories

I just love the tongue sticking out.  He must be really concentrating!

Samuel is learning to spell his name.  He match the letter stamps to the letters in his name and then stamped it below.

We had so much fun at playgroup this week, we always do!  We read, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and then we had lots of caterpillar and butterfly crafts and activities.

We made caterpillars out of egg cartons.

There were many beautiful butterflies made at the playdough tables.

More caterpillars!  This time using pipecleaners and cut up plastics straws.
Isn't she just adorable!!

We used paint to make some beautiful symmetrical butterflies by folding our paper in half once we had added some paint.

Learning to share while finding caterpillars and lots of yummy food to feed them in the sensory rice box.3

And finally, lots of time to play and chat outside.

Preschool (May 3)

.

Letter A, again! We are just jumping around, not following any particular order anymore. We were using a curriculum but decided just to do our own thing. We are using the animal ABC printables from 1+1+1=1http://www.1plus1plus1equals1.com/AnimalABC.html and also her printables for Songs for Saplings ABChttp://www.1plus1plus1equals1.com/RaisingRockStars.html as well as many other theme related printables from all over the place. Samuel chose the letter A for this week so that is what we did and our theme for this week and next week is Noah's ark and rainbows.
